Jan 08, 2010 · Somewhere in 2003 i ran some OpenGL 1.5 (int. 2002) applications on Direct3D 5.0 (int. 1998) hardware (that has no OpenGL support from vendor) with help of GLDirect software (OpenGL->Direct3D wrapper), so wrapping/emulator arguments just miss the point.
Hi I have had this problem since d3 beta and now I upgraded my graphics card and I still have the problem I really wish this would go away I can't alt tab 1 time without it crashing on a d3d.
MH's wrapper version 1 took about 6 hours for me to add to another engine. The final one requires maybe a good 10 minutes (sounds so hard to believe, yet true), the wrapper is written that well. Really although I think what MH did is an incredible think for Quake, I think the implications of this really go a bit beyond Quake or at least could.
Unzip the archive into the Direct3D sample directory. You will get two files: a VC++6 workspace a project. The project is a utility project that is dependent on all the Direct3D samples and tutorials shipped in the DirectX 8.0 SDK. The workspace contains the "rt_All" project and all the SDK sample projects.

ANGLE (Almost Native Graphics Layer Engine) is an open source, BSD-licensed graphics engine abstraction layer developed by Google. The API is mainly designed to bring high-performance OpenGL compatibility to Windows computers and to web browsers such as Chromium by translating OpenGL calls to Direct3D, which has much better driver support.
Windows 7, Direct3D 11.1, and PIX. The Direct3D 11.1 runtime is the only version to support some of these debug APIs. Some parts of Direct3D 11.1 (including these debug APIs) have been backported to Windows 7 via a Platform Update so you aren't strictly required to run Windows 8.
